This exciting full-time opportunity is for a Housekeeping Environmental Services (EVS) Associate at Banner Boswell Medical Center. This role is critical in maintaining the hospital's cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance, significantly contributing to the high standards of patient care and comfort the institution upholds. The Housekeeping EVS Associate will be responsible for thorough cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance of various hospital areas, including patient rooms and specialty units such as COVID-19 wards or the morgue. The position demands physical stamina due to the fast-paced and hands-on nature of the work, which includes extensive walking and the use of cleaning equipment and chemicals. The role also involves interaction with medical staff, patients, and visitors, requiring excellent communication skills and teamwork. Employees in this capacity will adhere to health and safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials and compliance with the hospital's annual flu vaccine policy. The position offers a weekday day shift from 7 AM to 3:30 PM with weekend and holiday rotations, accompanied by a weekend shift differential. Job Requirements

Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
Effective communication skills by phone and verbally
Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and using cleaning chemicals
Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
Must complete onboarding promptly or job offer will be rescinded
Must receive annual flu vaccine or seek exemption
May be required to pass background check and drug screen
Physical ability to perform fast-paced and physically demanding tasks including walking and pushing cleaning carts
Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required for employees at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital or Whole Health Clinic
Weekend and holiday work rotations required

Job Qualifications

Previous related experience in environmental services or housekeeping preferred
Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques is preferred
Ability to interpret and follow verbal and written instructions clearly
Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing
Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and chemical handling instructions
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Additional education and experience in the field preferred

Job Duties

Perform assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing according to department policies
Plan and complete daily cleaning assignments effectively
Empty hampers and transport soiled linen
Empty trash containers and medical waste including sharps appropriately
Inventory, restock and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap
Maintain departmental equipment cleanliness and report necessary repairs
Perform special cleaning projects like window and wall washing and removal of heavily soiled items
Respond promptly to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors with excellent customer service
Work under supervision within assigned facility areas to support a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment
