This role is for a Housekeeping EVS (Environmental Services) Associate at Banner Boswell Medical Center. The position is full-time, with day shifts from 7 AM to 3:30 PM and requires weekend and holiday rotations. The role plays a crucial part in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming hospital environment by performing cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance duties in patient rooms and other assigned hospital areas. This fast-paced and physically demanding position involves extensive walking, use of cleaning chemicals, and handling of potentially hazardous materials such as blood and bodily fluids. Associates may be assigned to specialized areas, including the morgue or COVID-19 units, requiring adherence to strict safety and infection control protocols.

Job Requirements
- ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- effective communication skills by phone and verbally
- ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for chemical use
- ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- must complete onboarding timely or job offer will be rescinded
- required to receive annual flu vaccine
- background check and drug screen required
- willingness to work fast-paced and physical tasks including walking and pushing a cleaning cart
- may be assigned to clean specialty areas such as morgue or COVID-19 units
- employees at certain facilities must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card
Job Qualifications
- previous related experience preferred
- familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques preferred
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- effective communication skills
- ability to read and understand safety data sheets and cleaning instructions
- additional related education and experience preferred
Job Duties
- performs cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing
- empties hampers and transports soiled linen
- empties trash and medical waste containers including sharps
- inventories and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap
- maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment and reports repair needs
- performs special projects such as window and wall washing or removing heavily soiled items
- responds to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors
