Job Requirements
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision
- Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions
- Effective communication skills by phone and verbally
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets, and instructions for mixing and using cleaning chemicals
- Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- Completion of background check and drug screen
- Willingness to complete onboarding timely
- Required to receive annual flu vaccine or obtain exemption
- Ability to work in fast paced and physically demanding environment requiring walking and pushing cleaning carts
- Willingness to work weekend and holiday rotations
- Compliance with drug-free workplace policies
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective verbal and phone communication skills
- Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and chemical instructions
- Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers
- Possession of Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card for employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital or Whole Health Clinic
- Previous related experience and familiarity with environmental services equipment preferred
- Additional related education or experience preferred
Job Duties
- Performs assigned cleaning tasks including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming and polishing according to departmental policy and procedures
- Empties hampers and transports soiled linen
- Empties trash containers and removes all trash including medical waste and sharps
- Inventories, restocks and replenishes supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in assigned areas
- Maintains cleanliness of departmental equipment and notifies personnel for repairs
- Performs special cleaning projects like window washing and removing heavily soiled items
- Responds to questions and requests from patients, staff and visitors
- Maintains high customer service satisfaction as part of the environmental services team
