Job Description

Banner Health is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering exceptional medical services across several states, including Colorado, Arizona, and Nebraska. With a commitment to innovation, compassionate care, and community wellness, Banner Health operates numerous hospitals and medical centers equipped with advanced technology and staffed by highly skilled healthcare professionals. The organization values the contributions of every employee, from frontline clinicians to support staff, recognizing that quality healthcare is the sum of many parts working seamlessly together. Banner Health fosters an inclusive, supportive work environment that encourages professional growth, diversity, and employee engagement. They are committed to pay equity and transparency, ensuring fair compensation for their workforce based on experience, skills, and location.

The Banner Fort Collins Medical Center, part of the Banner Health system, is an acute-care hospital located in Greeley, Colorado, offering comprehensive services ranging from emergency care to specialized medical and surgical treatments. This facility is equipped to handle a broad spectrum of patient needs, including orthopedics, surgery, women’s health, gastroenterology, pulmonology, and intensive care, making it a crucial healthcare resource for the region.

This particular position is for a full-time Environmental Services team member working the evening shift from 3pm to 11:30pm. Environmental Services staff play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall environment of the hospital to promote healing and patient satisfaction. The role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks such as dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing across patient rooms and hospital areas in accordance with established departmental policies and safety standards. Employees in this role also handle the disposal of medical waste and soiled linens, replenish supplies, maintain equipment, and respond to the needs of patients, visitors, and healthcare staff to ensure minimal disruption and a welcoming atmosphere.

Working at Banner also offers financial incentives such as a $1.50 per hour weekend shift differential and a $5 per hour night shift differential when applicable, reflecting the organization's appreciation for flexibility and dedication during these hours. Beyond the critical nature of the work, this position represents an excellent gateway into the healthcare industry, providing meaningful opportunities to contribute to patient care indirectly while gaining valuable experience in a hospital setting.

Banner North Colorado Medical Center, another facility within the Banner Health network, complements Fort Collins Medical Center by providing Level II trauma services and a wide range of inpatient and outpatient medical care. Together, these hospitals serve a large community, including parts of Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, and Colorado, ensuring access to specialized and community-based healthcare services. The Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center at the Greeley location further enhances the network’s capabilities, reinforcing Banner’s reputation as a comprehensive medical provider.

In this environmental services role, team members will collaborate with nurses, physicians, supervisors, and hospital executives, playing an integral behind-the-scenes part in healthcare delivery. The position demands someone who can work independently yet as part of a team, handle cleaning chemicals safely, and respond effectively to verbal and written instructions. Previous experience in environmental services or healthcare is preferred but not mandatory, making this a welcoming position for those seeking to start or grow their career in healthcare support services.

Overall, joining Banner Health’s Environmental Services team offers a rewarding career path where dedication to cleanliness and safety directly impacts patient outcomes and hospital operations.
