This full-time Housekeeping position, classified under the 8440-Housekeeping job code, offers a regular schedule with shifts from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, covering 64 to 80 hours per two-week period. The role is integral to maintaining the cleanliness and safety of patient care areas, ensuring a sanitary environment that meets healthcare standards and supports infection control protocols.

The Housekeeper will be responsible for providing a clean, safe, and attractive environment throughout the patient care areas. Duties include cleaning and disinfecting rooms daily, especially after patient discharge, as well as after transporting supplies from Central Services. The role also involves assisting with the delivery of patient food trays to various care areas, ensuring timely and efficient support to patients’ needs. The employee may help transport patients and supplies as required, maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment necessary to fulfill patient care demands.

Additionally, the Housekeeper will assist patients and facilitate communication by picking up visitors and hospital staff as needed, contributing to a smooth flow of patient care within the center. It is essential for the individual in this position to possess excellent interpersonal skills, comfort in working with the public, and the ability to communicate effectively in English at a basic level.

The role serves as a crucial support function in the healthcare system, enhancing patient comfort and safety while ensuring that the patient care environment remains clean and well-maintained. Preference is given to candidates with experience in hospital settings, household services, custodial work, janitorial services, food handling, transporting patients and supplies, and disinfecting equipment using detergents and disinfecting solutions.

Candidates with a high school diploma and current Family and Friends CPR certification are preferred, indicating readiness to respond to patient needs promptly and safely. Job Requirements
