Recognized for its comprehensive healthcare services, CharterCARE continually invests in its staff and infrastructure to uphold the highest standards of medical and environmental care.

The position available at CharterCARE of Rhode Island is a full-time role in the housekeeping department, specifically identified as 8440-Housekeeping. The role is scheduled from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, with working hours totaling 64-80 hours per pay period, reflecting a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and safety during prime operational hours. This role is integral to the healthcare environment as it ensures that patient care areas remain sanitary, which is critical in preventing infections and promoting recovery.

The Housekeeping role involves a diverse set of responsibilities, primarily focusing on environmental hygiene and patient comfort. A key part of the job is to provide patients with a clean, safe, and attractive environment. This includes delivering patient food trays to care areas, transporting patients and supplies as needed, and maintaining an inventory of supplies and equipment for patient care areas. The position may also involve assisting patients by transporting visitors and hospital staff. Daily duties include cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms after discharge, using detergents and disinfectants to ensure thorough sanitization. Another important aspect of the role is supporting the flow of patient care by performing comfort duties that help create a calm and orderly patient experience.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and preferably possess current Family and Friends CPR certification. Experience in a hospital setting is favored, ideally one to three months, which enhances familiarity with healthcare protocols and environments. Individuals with experience in housekeeping, custodial services, janitorial work, hotel services, food handling, transporting patients and supplies, and disinfecting with appropriate solutions will find this role well-suited to their skill sets. Strong interpersonal skills and a customer service mindset are essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively at a basic English level to follow instructions accurately and ensure compliance with hospital standards.

Overall, this housekeeping position at CharterCARE of Rhode Island offers a meaningful career opportunity for individuals who take pride in contributing to a healing and safe environment.
