Job Requirements

  • Knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes
  • must possess and maintain a valid Texas Operator Driver License with an acceptable driving record

Job Duties

  • Maintaining facilities by vacuuming, mopping and sweeping floors, cleaning windows, sanitizing counters and other surface areas, polishing metal, changing filters, removing and replacing sanitary supplies, and wiping down equipment
  • stripping and waxing tile floors with electric-powered floor buffers, burnishers, and scrubbers utilizing proper techniques for stripping, waxing, and polishing various flooring types
  • shampooing carpeted areas and dusting furniture
  • maintaining restrooms and locker rooms by replenishing supplies, cleaning and disinfecting toilets, urinals, walls, stalls, sinks, showers, mirrors and counters, scrubbing and mopping floors and by cleaning and sanitizing showers, mats and drains
  • collecting trash and recyclable materials and disposing of waste or debris to keep buildings, offices, restrooms, and facilities clean
  • restocking supplies and monitoring inventory and usage
  • checking and cleaning equipment daily to ensure proper, safe operation
  • checking and inspecting areas for hazards and spills to ensure a safe, clean environment
  • notifying supervisor of supply and equipment needs and safety and maintenance concerns
  • communicating courteously and effectively with other county employees, officials, and the public
  • reading and understanding verbal and written instructions and product warning labels
  • willing to work in all county buildings, including medical facilities and the Medical Examiner’s building
  • following safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines for equipment use and chemical handling
  • maintaining equipment in good working condition and reporting any issues promptly
  • performing other duties as assigned
