Job Description
W Scottsdale is a vibrant and contemporary luxury hotel located in Scottsdale, Arizona, known for its modern design, upscale amenities, and dynamic atmosphere. As part of the globally recognized W Hotels brand, which operates under Marriott International, W Scottsdale stands out as a premier destination for travelers seeking a stylish, energetic, and personalized hospitality experience. The hotel caters to leisure and business travelers alike, offering sophisticated accommodations alongside a lively social scene, innovative dining options, and exceptional service. With Marriott International’s commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity employment, W Scottsdale fosters a welcoming and supportive environment for all team members to thrive.
The Housekeeping Supervisor role at W Scottsdale is a non-management, full-time position focused on ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction throughout the hotel. This role plays a critical part in daily operations by coordinating the efforts of multiple departments including Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry, to maintain room readiness and respond efficiently to guest needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for running room status reports, verifying discrepancies, prioritizing room cleaning schedules, and updating room statuses for departing guests. Additionally, the role requires close collaboration with Housekeeping management in managing daily activities and resolving any issues that arise with room conditions or guest concerns.
Beyond operational coordination, the Housekeeping Supervisor is tasked with distributing room assignments, recording and managing the 'Do Not Disturb' room list, and ensuring that all vacant dirty rooms are cleaned promptly, with a particular focus on rush rooms and those previously inaccessible due to guest preferences. The role demands attention to detail in completing housekeeping paperwork accurately and timely, as well as adherence to all company safety, security, and operational policies. Employees are expected to uphold a professional appearance, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect hotel assets.
Interaction with guests also forms an essential part of this role, requiring supervisors to welcome guests warmly, anticipate and address their service needs, and ensure that guest experiences align with the high standards of W Hotels. The position is physically demanding, involving various tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, and moving objects weighing up to 10 pounds. The Housekeeping Supervisor must also be a strong communicator, capable of listening to and addressing employee concerns, preparing accurate written reports, and using computer systems to manage work-related information efficiently.
W Scottsdale and W Hotels pride themselves on fostering a culture of innovation, inclusivity, and exceptional service, encapsulated in their mission to "Ignite Curiosity, Expand Worlds." The Housekeeping Supervisor contributes to this mission by supporting a positive, team-oriented work environment where every associate can develop their skills and advance their career. This role offers an enriching opportunity to be part of a globally respected brand while working in a vibrant location known for its luxury hospitality and cutting-edge service philosophy.
