As one of the largest nonprofit healthcare plans in the United States, Kaiser Permanente operates hospitals and medical offices nationwide, focusing on delivering holistic and patient-centered care. The organization values diversity, equity, inclusion, and ethical conduct as foundational principles guiding its operations. With a distinguished reputation for excellence, Kaiser Permanente fosters a collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and development across a broad spectrum of healthcare and facility support roles.

It is designed to attract skilled external candidates eager to contribute to the enhancement of facility cleanliness and environmental services within the medical center. This position falls under the Riverside Medical Center - Environmental Services department, reporting directly to the Director of Environmental Services, and involves maintaining cleanliness and safety standards across various hospital areas using approved cleaning techniques and equipment. This role requires regular compliance with Kaiser Permanente's policies, state and federal laws, and commitment to patient and staff safety. Candidates will be part of a union (B05; USW; Local 7600) and expected to travel up to 25% of the time within the facility or between locations.

As a member of Kaiser Permanente's environmental services team, the selected candidate will ensure hygienic environments by regularly cleaning offices, patient rooms, examination rooms, restrooms, lounges, and other designated spaces. The role involves operating cleaning equipment such as electric washers, vacuum cleaners, and polishing machinery to maintain clean and polished surfaces. Duties include dusting, sweeping, mopping, replenishing dispensers, disposing of waste properly, and transporting soiled linen following established protocols. This position demands attention to detail, physical stamina for prolonged standing and lifting moderate to heavy loads, and adherence to strict safety and cleanliness standards. Employees also participate in ongoing staff development to stay current on best practices and compliance requirements.

The hospital expansion initiative represents an exciting chapter for Kaiser Permanente as it enhances its capacity to serve the Riverside community with state-of-the-art healthcare facilities. Being part of this team offers candidates an opportunity to impact healthcare delivery indirectly by ensuring a safe and sanitary environment that supports patient health outcomes and staff efficiency. Being on-call and covering variable hours, the role demands flexibility and a proactive approach to maintain high-quality service delivery around the clock.

Applicants interested in this role should expect a streamlined application process designed by Kaiser Permanente to expedite hiring for open environmental service positions within the Riverside Medical Center. The employer champions equal opportunity principles and practices non-discrimination based on race, religion, sex, age, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
