The Housekeeping Attendant position at UT Southwestern plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene essential to the hospital’s operations. This role supports the healthcare team by ensuring that patient care areas, staff zones, and visitor spaces meet the highest standards of sanitation and safety. With multiple shifts available, including day, mid-day/evening, and overnight shifts, and employment types such as full-time, part-time, and PRN (as needed), UT Southwestern offers flexibility catering to individual lifestyles. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Previous experience in housekeeping functions preferred but not required
  • Customer service skills highly recommended

Job Duties

  • Cleans and maintains patient care, staff, and visitor area
  • Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms
  • Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment, and dust-mops floors
  • Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials
  • Wet-mops rooms, halls, stairways, and public areas
  • Attends educational programs and in-service meetings as required
  • Completes and maintains all job performance requirements and standards as established in Career Ladder Program, including disciplinary action section
  • Maintains required records, reports and statistics as directed
  • Performs other duties as assigned
