Job Description

Franciscan Health Indianapolis Campus is part of Franciscan Health, a leading healthcare organization dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and promoting health and wellness throughout the Midwest. With 12 ministries and access points across Indiana and Illinois, Franciscan Health stands as one of the largest Catholic healthcare systems in the region. The institution prides itself on its commitment to compassionate, comprehensive care, placing a strong emphasis on innovation, excellence, and community service. Situated at 8111 S Emerson Ave in Indianapolis, Indiana, the Indianapolis Campus plays a pivotal role in ensuring the health and safety of its patients and staff alike. The facility is anchored by a team of dedicated professionals who work collaboratively to provide an environment that supports healing and well-being.

The EVS Associate I role at Franciscan Health Indianapolis Campus is a fundamental position within the Environmental Services department. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the healthcare facility, which is critical in preventing infections and promoting a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. An EVS Associate I supports the daily operations by restocking necessary supplies, cleaning all areas including patient rooms, bathrooms, floors, and common spaces, and ensuring the proper care of equipment used in cleaning processes. The role requires thorough knowledge of department policies and procedures, and associates must be vigilant in identifying and reporting any potential safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors. This position offers various shifts to accommodate staffing needs and provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in contributing to a healthcare setting through environmental support.

In this role, associates are expected to clean and disinfect floors using hospital-specific equipment such as microfiber cloths and wet mops. They sanitize surfaces including over-bed tables, counters, furniture, toilets, urinals, sinks, showers, walls, floors, and mirrors, as well as vertical surfaces like walls, ceilings, and windows. Regular cleaning of high dust surfaces, such as vents, doorframes, and picture frames, is also essential. Attention to detail is paramount, as EVS Associates must inspect rooms for proper cleanliness and report any safety or maintenance issues immediately. The role also involves managing trash and linen removal, cleaning receptacles, and preparing them for reuse. Restocking essential hygiene supplies like paper towels, hand sanitizers, and soap is a routine part of the job. Although travel is rarely required, the job holds an important function in maintaining the overall health environment.

Franciscan Health is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion. The organization adheres to policies that ensure fair treatment for all employees and applicants, with a commitment to equal employment opportunities regardless of background. Furthermore, it recognizes and respects religious freedoms in accordance with its values. Eligible employees at Franciscan Health also benefit from comprehensive benefits packages, which contribute to their overall well-being and job satisfaction. This position is ideal for those who are proactive, dependable, and have a dedication to maintaining cleanliness standards in a healthcare environment, helping to protect the health and safety of the community they serve.
