The Housekeeper position at Reside, located at Broadway Plaza in Rochester, MN, is a crucial role ensuring that all guest rooms, corridors, and public areas meet stringent cleanliness and sanitation standards consistent with the hospitality industry. This full-time role offers a competitive compensation of $17.00 per hour and follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a weekend rotation every other weekend, which may include holidays or alternate work hours depending on business needs. This position plays an essential role in maintaining the overall guest experience by providing a welcoming, safe, and immaculate environment.
Housekeepers at Reside are responsible for delivering exceptional cleaning services that not only meet, but often exceed guest expectations. Duties include thorough cleaning and sanitization of guest rooms and public areas, replenishing linens and amenities, managing housekeeping carts and storage areas, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The Housekeeper acts as a front-line ambassador of the property, greeting guests warmly and contributing positively to the hospitality atmosphere. This role does not include supervisory responsibilities but may involve cross-training other housekeeping staff.
Candidates for this position should ideally have some prior hospitality or housekeeping experience, although this is not mandatory. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Reside values team players with strong attention to detail who can work independently with a dependable and punctual work ethic. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary to accommodate the demands of a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Safety and physical stamina are vital as housekeepers are regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift objects up to 50 pounds. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum one year of hospitality or housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Must be dependable and punctual
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts
- Physically able to stand, walk, bend, kneel and lift objects up to 50 pounds
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year hospitality experience is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior housekeeping or janitorial experience in a hotel or hospitality setting preferred but not required
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
- Flexible schedule availability, including weekends, holidays, and evenings
- Demonstrates a guest-first attitude and handles guest interactions positively
- Works collaboratively with other staff to ensure smooth operations
- Completes assigned rooms and tasks within required timelines

Job Duties
- Clean, dust, and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, and public spaces following established procedures and checklists
- Make beds, replace linens, and replenish guest amenities such as towels, toiletries, and beverages
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, and polish floors as needed
- Inspect rooms for maintenance issues, damage, or missing items and promptly report to the supervisor
- Follow proper chemical handling and cleaning supply usage guidelines
- Remove trash, recyclables, and soiled linens to designated collection areas
- Maintain housekeeping carts and storage areas in a clean, organized, and stocked condition
- Comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as hotel policies and procedures
- Use proper two-way radio etiquette at all times when communicating with other employees by radio
- Greet guests warmly when encountered, offer assistance when appropriate, and maintain professional courtesy in all interactions to enhance the guest experience
- Respond to guest requests in a professional, timely, and courteous manner
- escalate requests to the appropriate department if necessary
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly
- Assist with special cleaning projects or seasonal deep cleaning tasks
- Support customer arrivals, requests, or service resolutions with porterage acts as needed
