Job Description
The Ritz-Carlton, located at 1150 22nd St NW, Washington, District of Columbia, is a world-renowned luxury hotel brand that is part of Marriott International. With over 100 award-winning hotels across the globe, The Ritz-Carlton has established itself as a leader in the luxury hospitality industry by delivering exceptional guest experiences. The company prides itself on its dedication to high standards of service, known as the "Gold Standards," which include the employee promise, credo, and service values. As a luxury hotel, The Ritz-Carlton offers its guests comfort, care, and a memorable stay with attention to every detail.
The position available is a full-time, non-management Housekeeping and Laundry role that pays $30.25 per hour. This role is vital to maintaining the impeccable appearance and hygiene standards of guest rooms, ensuring each visitor feels at home and satisfied from the very first look at their room. The Housekeeping team is responsible for providing a clean, fresh, and welcoming environment that reflects the luxury and excellence that The Ritz-Carlton brand represents.
As a Housekeeping team member, your impact is significant. You will be the person who ensures that every guest feels at ease and comfortable in their "home away from home." From making beds with pristine linens to polishing mirrors and dusting furniture, the attention to detail you bring to the job will contribute to creating outstanding guest experiences and fostering customer loyalty. Your dedication will not go unnoticed as these positive impressions accumulate and help build lasting relationships with guests.
Your duties will include tasks such as replacing guest room amenities and supplies, making beds, folding sheets, removing trash and soiled linens, and organizing room furnishings. You will also be responsible for dusting, polishing, cleaning walls and furniture, vacuuming carpets, and cleaning floors. Guest interaction is another essential aspect, greeting guests warmly and responding to their requests with attentiveness and care.
The Ritz-Carlton values teamwork, and the hospitality culture here encourages a supportive and motivating atmosphere. You will work alongside colleagues who share the same commitment to excellence and be supported by management that is dedicated to your success. The company offers wellness programs, opportunities for learning and development, employee recognition programs, and discounts on hotel stays, gift shop items, and food and beverages, enhancing your overall employment experience.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a friendly, people-oriented demeanor, a team-first attitude, and a keen eye for details. Physical capability to lift and move up to 25 pounds, as well as stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, is required. Adherence to professional appearance standards, including wearing a clean uniform, is mandatory. Before starting, candidates will undergo safety training and certification.
Educationally, a high school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate is preferred, though no previous related work experience or supervisory experience is required. The Ritz-Carlton is committed to equal employment opportunities and celebrates diversity in its workforce, ensuring an inclusive and welcoming work environment for all associates.
Joining The Ritz-Carlton means being part of a global team that strives for luxury excellence daily. You will have the chance to deliver service that guests remember long after their stay and contribute to the reputation of one of the most prestigious names in hospitality. The culture of empowerment encourages creativity, kindness, and compassion among team members, and you will be proud of the work you do and the team you belong to. This is more than just a job; it is an opportunity to grow, learn, and become your best self in a dynamic and supportive setting where your contribution truly matters.
