Located in the vibrant Arts District and the historic French Quarter of New Orleans, Highgate’s luxury hotel embodies the unique charm and mystique of the city. The House Attendant role is a critical position within the hotel, responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of designated areas and equipment. This hourly position demands a keen eye for detail and a commitment to customer satisfaction, as the attendant is also tasked with delivering items to guestrooms, handling luggage assistance, and managing lost and found items according to hotel standards. The role requires physically demanding tasks such as buffing marble floors, shampooing carpets and furniture, and maintaining all hotel equipment. Furthermore, the House Attendant must be familiar with emergency procedures and perform special projects assigned by the Housekeeping Manager. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • relevant experience in hospitality preferred
  • physical ability to lift, carry, push or pull heavy objects
  • ability to stand for the duration of the shift
  • strong communication skills
  • customer service orientation
  • ability to follow emergency procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in a hotel or a related field preferred
  • ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • ability to stand during entire shift
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to communicate with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner

Job Duties

  • Buff marble floors daily according to hotel standards
  • shampoo carpets in the public areas according to hotel standards
  • shampoo furniture as needed
  • handle all requests for luggage assistance in a friendly, efficient and courteous manner
  • handle items for lost and found according to hotel standards
  • clean guestrooms as needed
  • have knowledge of and assist in all emergency procedures
  • maintain hotel equipment in proper working order
  • maintain storage of hotel equipment in proper area
  • complete special projects as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager
  • ensure overall guest satisfaction
