Job Description
Our organization is a healthcare facility dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to geriatric, chronically ill, and disabled individuals. We are committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment to promote the health and comfort of our residents. Our team values compassion, professionalism, and a genuine interest in improving the lives of those we serve. We are currently seeking a Housekeeping/Laundry Attendant to join our team under the general supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor. This is a full-time position that involves performing a variety of cleaning and laundry tasks efficiently and effectively within assigned areas, which may include both the interior and exterior of buildings.
The Housekeeping/Laundry Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring that our facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. This role involves comprehensive housekeeping duties such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, waxing, cleaning fixtures, and maintaining the overall tidiness of patient and resident rooms as well as common areas like corridors, laboratories, offices, and laundries. The attendant will also perform laundry functions including sorting, washing, drying, folding, and delivering clean linens and clothing to residents. This position demands a practical understanding of housekeeping procedures, infection control practices, and effective communication skills in English for taking and giving directions.
In addition to routine cleaning and laundry tasks, the role may require assisting with furniture moving and room setups, operating and maintaining cleaning equipment, and performing specialized tasks like carpet and upholstery cleaning and repairs. Shift flexibility is required as evening and weekend duties may be necessary. Adherence to Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines, as well as state and federal environmental service regulations, is paramount to ensure safety and compliance. The successful candidate will also participate in weekly training sessions to stay updated on environmental services compliance and best practices.
This role is suited for individuals who are dedicated, detail-oriented, and physically able to carry out manual tasks in a healthcare setting. Reliability and regular attendance are crucial for the efficient operation of our services. If you have a caring attitude towards the elderly and vulnerable populations, and possess the skills and willingness to maintain a clean and sanitary environment, we encourage you to apply for this important position within our team.
