Job Description

Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay is a compassionate nonprofit organization that has been committed to supporting families with children receiving medical care in the Tampa Bay area since 1980. The organization's mission is to provide essential services that eliminate barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing during what can be a challenging time when a child is ill. Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay operates five houses across the region – three in St. Petersburg and two in Tampa – offering families a safe, welcoming, and supportive home environment while their children are undergoing treatment. The organization is deeply rooted in the community, offering not just lodging but a network of care with a vision of ensuring all families have what they need for the best possible health outcomes for their children.

The full-time Housekeeping Associate position at Ronald McDonald House Tampa Bay plays a crucial role in maintaining this environment. This 40-hour-per-week role requires dedication toward keeping the houses clean, comfortable, and orderly. The associate is responsible for various housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitizing surfaces, changing and laundering linen, and stocking self-serve meal areas to ensure that every guest, usually families going through tough times, feels cared for and comfortable in the space. This position demands a keen attention to detail as maintaining a spotless and hygienic environment is vital to health and safety standards.

In addition to cleaning duties, the Housekeeping Associate interacts regularly with families, supporting them as they navigate their stay. The role requires strong customer service skills, the ability to work efficiently and punctually, and a genuine eagerness to learn and adapt. The associate supports special activities and events, including holiday decorating, which helps create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for guests. Furthermore, the position encourages personal and professional growth through ongoing educational programs and quarterly team meetings.

RMH Tampa Bay provides a comprehensive benefits package including 100% coverage of employee health and dental insurance, a 401k retirement plan with annual contributions, two weeks of paid leave plus additional flexible holiday and sick days. The work schedule generally revolves around a stable routine focused on house needs without weekly changes, with occasional weekend work. The location is primarily in St. Petersburg with some travel to Tampa locations preferred.

Overall, this role is ideal for compassionate individuals who are punctual and efficient, enjoy working in a team, and want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families facing medical challenges. It offers the chance to contribute to a charitable cause while gaining valuable experience in hospitality and facility maintenance within a supportive nonprofit environment.
