Job Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours daily
  • Ability to lift, transfer, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled
  • Ability to drive up to 3 hours daily
  • Ability to sit up to 1 hour per day
  • Exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and various occupational hazards
  • Compliance with established quality assurance and infection control practices

Job Qualifications

  • Tenth grade education required
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year of housekeeping experience preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning and general housekeeping methods and equipment preferred
  • Knowledge of floor care and appropriate cleaning materials preferred
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English

Job Duties

  • Dust furniture, tables, window ledges, lights, beds, high pipes, and other dusting
  • Empty and clean waste cans and replace liners
  • Clean and polish tables, fixtures, furnishings, and woodwork
  • Clean, wash, and disinfect bathroom sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, and floors
  • Clean windows and mirrors in bathrooms, entrance/exits, and patio doors
  • Clean all floors and baseboards including sweeping, mopping, waxing, buffing
  • Vacuum carpets and carpeted stairways
  • Clean walls and ceilings by wiping, dusting, spot cleaning
  • Ensure work areas and equipment are clean and in proper working order
  • Maintain adequate housekeeping and cleaning supplies
  • Follow quality assurance, infection control, and universal precaution practices
  • Report damages or repairs to supervisor
  • Share observations to improve department quality and efficiency
  • Attend all-employee and departmental meetings and training
  • Listen and respond to resident, patient, and staff needs
  • Honor resident and patient personal and property rights
  • Maintain accurate records according to company and regulatory standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned
