The Housekeeping Department plays a crucial role in upholding these standards at The Ridges at Peoria. This full-time position offers a wage starting at $18 per hour, depending on experience, and is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the facility. The role involves performing daily housekeeping duties in line with federal, state, and local regulations as well as the facility’s internal policies. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Director, the Director of Housekeeping, and other team members to ensure that all areas—including resident rooms, recreational spaces, hallways, and bathrooms—are cleaned and sanitized efficiently and effectively. This helps create a safe and welcoming environment for residents, family members, and visitors alike.

Job Duties
- Perform daily housekeeping functions and tasks as assigned and follow established safety precautions and infection control procedures
- Ensure that work and cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and recreational areas
- Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive manner
- Dispose of personal protective equipment in accordance with established sanitation procedures
- Maintain an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies in utility and janitorial closets
- Assist others in lifting heavy equipment and supplies as directed or requested
- Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating and cooling units in resident rooms, recreational areas, and other facility spaces
- Clean, wash, sanitize, and polish bathroom fixtures and remove water marks
- Clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways
- Clean floors through sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, disinfecting, and other methods with appropriate safety signage
- Clean carpets by vacuuming
- Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizing
- Remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions
- Clean hallways, stairways, elevators, and vacant rooms
- Ensure that work and assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored at all times, including before breaks, meal times, and end of the shift
