Island Home Park Health and Rehab is a dedicated long-term care facility committed to providing exceptional care to the senior population. We are actively hiring long-term care team members whose focus aligns with quality care and excellent employee relations. The position available is that of a Housekeeper responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and hospitable environment for residents and staff alike. This role involves cleaning resident rooms and all interior and exterior facility areas under the supervision of the Environmental Services Supervisor. The role of Housekeeper requires commitment to a scheduled routine that addresses daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual cleaning needs, including but not limited to vacuuming, mopping, polishing, and organizing spaces. Responsibilities also include ensuring all resident rooms are safe and well-maintained, coordinating cleaning schedules with nursing services to minimize disruption, and disposing of waste according to strict sanitation standards. Additional duties entail responding promptly to spills and hazards to maintain a safe environment and assisting with moving residents' furniture and belongings, especially during room transfers or upon discharge.
This position demands a high level of professionalism, including maintaining resident confidentiality, protecting residents from neglect or abuse, and safeguarding personal property. Employees are required to participate in in-service training to comply with facility educational standards and safety protocols such as Standard Precautions and Fire Drill procedures. The job expects the ability to work consistently, sometimes without direct supervision, and requires physical effort within outlined demands. We seek to attract candidates who are organized, detail-oriented, and possess good communication skills to foster a positive atmosphere of teamwork and hospitality throughout the facility.

Job Duties
- assist in maintaining a facility that is neat in appearance and odor free at all times
- follow a regular schedule of all daily, weekly, monthly, seasonal, and annual cleaning requirements
- clean rooms, offices, and common areas including vacuuming, wiping, mopping, and polishing
- coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in resident living and recreational areas
- dispose of refuse daily in accordance with facility established sanitation procedures
- clean up spills, soiled areas, and other conditions as observed or directed
- follow an uninterrupted work schedule when supervisor is not available
