We are currently seeking a hospitality-focused Housekeeping & Laundry Lead to join our dynamic Environmental Services team. This full-time role offers a competitive pay rate of up to $15 per hour and a schedule primarily Monday through Friday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, with weekend availability expected. The Housekeeping & Laundry Lead plays a critical leadership role in supervising, training, and coordinating the efforts of housekeeping staff to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of the community. This position is instrumental in ensuring that all housekeeping and laundry services meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

This role includes planning, organizing, and directing the Environmental Services Department’s programs and activities, coordinating services with other departments, and assisting in the development and maintenance of policies and procedures. The Housekeeping & Laundry Lead is also responsible for conducting regular inspections, addressing issues promptly, and maintaining an effective and well-equipped team. In addition to leadership duties, the lead actively participates in daily housekeeping tasks such as vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and dusting to ensure common areas and apartments are impeccably maintained. This role demands a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a service-oriented environment and who is passionate about contributing to a senior community’s wellbeing and hospitality experience.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
  • Effective communication skills
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds
  • Willingness to work Monday - Friday 10:00am - 6:00pm and weekends as needed

Job Duties

  • Plan, organize and direct the Environmental Services Department programs and activities to ensure that the organization is maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary and comfortable manner
  • Coordinate housekeeping and laundry services with other facility departments and agencies
  • Assist in developing and maintaining written housekeeping policies and procedures
  • Ensure that department personnel follow department policies and utilize equipment and supplies effectively
  • Make recommendations to the Administrator as necessary concerning the operation of the Housekeeping Department
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in apartments and common areas, such as vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, and dusting all cleared flat surfaces
  • Accomplish all work in the order of priority set by the supervisor
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of supplies and equipment used
