Job Description

This position is with a skilled nursing facility dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to its residents. The facility maintains high standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort to ensure a welcoming environment for residents, their families, and staff. As a healthcare establishment specializing in long-term and rehabilitative care, it places a strong emphasis on infection control and resident-centered care, ensuring that the environment contributes positively to the health and well-being of everyone on site. The housekeeping team plays a crucial role in upholding these standards and delivering a safe, sanitary environment.

The role of Housekeeping Aide is essential within this skilled nursing facility. The primary responsibility is to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the facility. This includes cleaning resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, and other designated spaces. The Housekeeping Aide must adhere strictly to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and facility procedures to prevent the spread of infections and maintain compliance with health regulations. This role not only involves thorough cleaning but also entails ensuring residents’ privacy and comfort are respected at all times.

In addition to basic housekeeping duties such as dusting, mopping, and emptying trash, the Housekeeping Aide is responsible for the safe handling of cleaning chemicals, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and reporting any safety hazards or equipment issues to supervisors promptly. The aide is expected to work collaboratively with other departments such as nursing, dietary, and maintenance to support an integrated approach to resident care.

This is a shift position requiring availability on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The role demands physical stamina, with frequent walking, standing, bending, and the ability to lift and carry items between 25 and 50 pounds. Flexibility in working hours, including weekends, is necessary to meet the facility's operational needs. The environment involves exposure to cleaning chemicals, detergents, and the use of machinery like laundry equipment, which may produce loud noises.

The Housekeeping Aide also plays a vital role in fostering a positive and respectful atmosphere by interacting courteously with residents and visitors. This position requires attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive attitude toward maintaining cleanliness and safety. The successful candidate will be an integral part of ensuring the facility remains a clean, comfortable, and safe place for all individuals who live and work there.
