We are currently seeking a casual Housekeeping Aide to join our team at the Fairview Community Health and Wellness Hub. The casual nature of this role means that the candidate will pick up shifts as needed, providing flexibility both for the workforce and the employer. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the health and safety standards of our facility, ensuring all areas are clean, orderly, and sanitary to promote an environment conducive to excellent healthcare and wellness services. The Housekeeping Aide will be responsible for performing cleaning duties according to established departmental procedures and protocols, utilizing appropriate chemicals and equipment to ensure areas meet infection control requirements. The candidate will also be expected to follow all safety guidelines to prevent hazards and contribute positively to the overall experience of patients and staff.
The role requires a proactive approach, including replenishing cleaning and sanitary supplies, handling and disposing of linens and waste correctly according to biohazard protocols, and maintaining equipment used in cleaning tasks. The Housekeeping Aide will also support emergency procedures, assist with emergency spills, and contribute to securing the facility during shift changes. Customer service skills are essential, as the aide will interact with staff and visitors, demonstrating a courteous, respectful, and helpful attitude. Reporting any malfunctions with equipment or unsafe conditions promptly is part of the job, as is willingness to suggest and implement process improvements.
Candidates should hold at least a high school diploma or GED and preferably have prior experience in housekeeping or environmental services, particularly within a healthcare setting.
