Job Description

Fairview is a leading integrated healthcare provider committed to improving the health and well-being of the communities it serves. Known for its comprehensive and compassionate care services, Fairview operates a network of hospitals, clinics, and specialized facilities, including the Community Health and Wellness Hub in St. Paul. The organization values a patient-centered approach, continuous improvement, and fostering a supportive work environment for all employees. With a reputation for excellence in healthcare delivery, Fairview emphasizes quality, safety, and innovation in all aspects of its operations.

The Housekeeping Aide role at the Fairview Community Health and Wellness Hub in St. Paul is a casual, on-call position designed to provide vital support in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position is crucial in ensuring that healthcare environments meet high standards of hygiene and safety, which directly impact patient care outcomes and overall satisfaction.

Housekeeping Aides at Fairview play a fundamental role by adhering to relevant regulatory standards, policies, and procedures to uphold cleanliness and infection control. The position involves cleaning occupied rooms daily, preparing discharge and surgical procedure areas, and maintaining both hard surface and carpeted flooring within various facility areas including offices and public spaces. The role also requires responding promptly to spills or other emergency cleanups to mitigate safety hazards.

Working hours for this position are available in two main shifts: from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., allowing flexibility for individuals seeking part-time or casual employment. While previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role is preferred, it is not mandatory, making this an accessible employment opportunity for those interested in gaining experience within a healthcare setting.

In addition to daily cleaning and maintenance duties, the Housekeeping Aide will assist with restocking paper supplies, managing linen distribution, and operating cleaning equipment safely to support cost containment efforts. The role requires excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential for effective collaboration with supervisors, clinical staff, and other team members.

Although this is a non-benefit eligible position, Fairview extends some valuable options, including participation in the Fairview 403(b) retirement plan, earning Sick and Safe Time, and early access to earned wages. Compensation within the pay range reflects factors such as experience, education, skills, and internal team equity, with a focus on fair pay practices.

Fairview promotes an inclusive workplace culture and is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, ensuring that all applications are considered without regard to any lawfully protected status. This role is ideal for individuals seeking to contribute to a well-respected healthcare organization while developing their skills in a supportive, mission-driven environment.
