The role of Housekeeping Aide at Fairview is a casual, flexible position designed for individuals who are available to pick up shifts as needed. The primary duty of the Housekeeping Aide is to maintain a clean, orderly, attractive, and sanitary environment throughout the Health and Wellness Hub. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that all areas of the facility meet infection control and safety standards, contributing directly to the wellbeing of patients, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities include performing cleaning duties as assigned based on department protocols and instructions, using proper chemicals and equipment, handling linens and waste properly, and adhering to safety guidelines such as the use of personal protective equipment and signage.
Specifically, the Housekeeping Aide is involved in tasks such as reporting equipment malfunctions, assisting with emergency procedures, cleaning emergency spills, and locking or securing access to the building when necessary. Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members are essential. The role requires adherence to infection control practices, using authorized cleaning materials correctly and safely, and following proper disposal procedures for biohazardous materials.
