Job Requirements

Able to read, write, speak and understand English
Adhere to departmental dress code
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Able to stand, stoop and reach for extended periods of time
Able to lift up to 25 pounds
Able to push/pull up to 100 pounds
Able to remember verbal and written tasks for an 8 hour shift
Able to concentrate on minimal detail with some interruptions

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles preferred
Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums and mops
Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols is an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment

Job Duties

Perform daily/scheduled housekeeping assignments throughout the facility following established policies and procedures
Clean assigned areas, furnishings and fixtures including dry/wet mop, sweep and disinfect floors
Dust, spot clean, wash, disinfect and polish movable and stationary furnishings/fixtures including handrails, ledges, shelves and vents
Empty and clean ash trays and waste cans
Vacuum
Clean and inspect refrigerators daily for temperatures and defrosting
Clean and disinfect resident and public bathrooms including fixtures, tile, floors, walls, toilets, tubs, showers, windows, mirrors and sinks
Replenish bathroom supplies
Work effectively with residents, staff and supervisors
Properly maintain supplies and equipment notifying supervisor of needs/malfunctions
Clean equipment daily
Maintain clean/sanitary conditions in assigned areas following disinfecting techniques and infection control policies
Attend in-service training
Operate equipment (vacuum) with minimal supervision
Maintain a positive, pleasant attitude
Treat residents with respect and courtesy
Notify supervisor when appliances need repair
Perform emergency cleaning when accidents occur
Help out in laundry as required
