Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Suitable for federal employment as determined by a background investigation
- Pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment
- Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959

Job Duties
- Works alone and must be able to do all cleaning duties on their own and without instruction
- Possess the ability and knowledge to use common cleaning tools and lightweight vacuum cleaners
- Uses, move, and control heavy equipment, carry and set up ladders and scaffolding, and occasionally work from ladders
- Vacuums and shampoo rugs, using heavy (industrial-type) shampooers and lightweight vacuum cleaners
- Scrub, strip, wax, and polish floors using heavy (industrial-type) powered scrubbers and buffers
- Performs minor maintenance on vacuum cleaners, power scrubbers, buffers and polishers
- Lifts objects weighting over 40 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds
- Inspects equipment at the end of the day to ensure it is cleaned and in proper working order
- Cleans according to established aseptic and aesthetic techniques used throughout the medical center that makes for a pleasant environment for patients, staff and visitors
- Assists the Housekeeping Supervisor with plans as needed, including reassignment of staff to meet requirements
