Job Description

Shea Medical Center, located at 9003 E Shea Blvd, Scottsdale, AZ 85260, is a part of the HonorHealth network, one of Arizona's largest nonprofit healthcare systems. HonorHealth has been serving the greater Phoenix area since its humble beginnings in 1927. The organization is committed to providing exceptional care with a culture rooted in warmth and neighborly kindness. HonorHealth places tremendous value on its team of highly skilled professionals who are dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the communities we serve. As a nonprofit healthcare system, HonorHealth exemplifies a deep commitment to both patient care and community service, making it a trusted name in the healthcare sector.

The Environmental Services Technician role at Shea Medical Center is a full-time day shift position working from 7 am to 3:30 pm, totaling 32 hours per week. This role is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of patient rooms, offices, hallways, and other areas within the hospital environment. The technician is responsible for performing heavy cleaning tasks, floor refinishing, and using various cleaning equipment and supplies to ensure the highest quality standards are met. This role contributes directly to the hospital's objective of creating a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors alike.

In this position, the Environmental Services Technician will be involved in daily housekeeping operations such as placing linens on distribution carts, organizing scrub sets for sterilization, and maintaining the linen room. The technician will also manage housekeeping supplies and equipment by filling requisitions and replenishing nursing unit supply closets. Maintaining floors is a critical part of this role, requiring proficiency in dust mopping, stripping, refinishing, and carpet care to ensure surfaces meet organizational cleanliness standards.

Furthermore, the technician will be responsible for cleaning assigned patient and non-patient areas daily, abiding by established cleaning protocols. Part of these duties includes making beds after patient transfers or discharges and transporting waste materials, including regular waste, medical waste, and linen, to designated pick-up sites while adhering to safety precautions and wearing personal protective equipment.

Candidates for this role must demonstrate attention to detail, consistent adherence to health and safety protocols, and a proactive approach to maintenance and cleanliness. The Environmental Services Technician will also participate in patient safety rounds and coordinate closely with nursing staff to report any observations requiring clinical attention. This role offers an excellent opportunity to become part of a caring, driven team focused on delivering excellent environmental services within a healthcare setting. By joining HonorHealth, employees become part of a mission-driven organization that values professional growth, community impact, and fostering a supportive workplace culture.
