Job Description
Ace Hardware Corporation is a leading retailer cooperative in the hardware industry, renowned for its commitment to service, quality, and community values. The company operates an extensive network of retail stores and distribution centers across the United States, playing a crucial role in supplying over 75,000 products to customers who are passionate about taking care of their homes. Established with a deep-rooted culture, Ace Hardware strongly emphasizes values like Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility, and Teamwork. These guiding principles not only define the company’s business approach but also shape its corporate culture and contributions to employees, customers, and communities they serve.
Ace Hardware is actively seeking dedicated individuals to join its team in the position of Housekeeping for the first shift, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a willingness to work overtime as needed. This full-time role is centered on maintaining cleanliness and safety throughout the facility to ensure a pleasant and healthy work environment. The position offers hourly compensation ranging from $17.00 to $18.00, reflecting the company’s intention to provide competitive pay alongside a rich benefits package.
Working in housekeeping at Ace Hardware involves diverse responsibilities aimed at preserving the appearance, hygiene, and safety of the workplace. Core duties include sweeping, vacuuming, and trash removal in assigned areas, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, office areas, breakrooms, and other communal spaces. The role also involves maintaining stairs located in shuttle areas, dusting, cleaning windows, and sanitizing frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, handrails, and phones. Employees are expected to uphold safety standards consistently and actively participate in fostering a safe workplace culture by using personal protective equipment correctly and adhering to safe operational practices.
Beyond the essential duties, this position at Ace Hardware also represents an opportunity to join a company that values growth and career development. The company provides a Dock to Driver program, which pays for obtaining a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and training—a great path for those interested in transitioning to driving roles. Additionally, Ace Hardware offers tuition reimbursement, which supports employees continuing their education, and an employee recognition program that celebrates contributions and achievements. The organization’s robust benefits package includes comprehensive health coverage encompassing medical, dental, vision, and disability plans, life insurance, and generous paid time off programs that cover vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
Employees benefit from a lucrative 401(k) retirement savings plan featuring fully vested matching contributions from the first year, quarterly contributions, and an annual discretionary contribution. Over the past five years, company contributions have averaged 10% of total eligible compensation for fully eligible employees, highlighting a strong commitment to employee financial wellness. Further perks include merchandise discounts on top brands such as Weber, Traeger, Yeti, Craftsman, and DeWalt, as well as access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that provides free visits to therapists and lawyers, financial guidance, and family care support.
Ace Hardware’s safety commitment is paramount; the company prioritizes promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy, and injury-free workplace environment for all team members. Employees are recognized as crucial contributors to this goal and must demonstrate responsibility for their own safety and that of their colleagues. With an inclusive, equal opportunity hiring approach, Ace Hardware embraces diversity and strives to leverage the strengths of all employees regardless of race, religion, gender, age, disability, or veteran status. This dedication to fairness, combined with a supportive culture and comprehensive benefits, makes working at Ace Hardware not just a job but a fulfilling career opportunity.
