Job Description

HonorHealth is a leading nonprofit healthcare system based in Arizona, with a rich history dating back to 1927. As one of the largest healthcare providers in the region, HonorHealth is dedicated to delivering high-quality medical services while fostering a culture of warmth, compassion, and community-focused care. The organization is widely respected for its commitment to patient well-being, professional development, and maintaining a respectful, inclusive environment for both patients and staff.

HonorHealth's Shea Medical Center is currently seeking an Environmental Service Associate to join their Environmental Services Department. This is a full-time position covering the evening shift from 4 PM to 12:30 AM, including weekends. The role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and safety standards of the patient care environment, which directly contributes to patient comfort and well-being.

The Environmental Service Associate is responsible for performing a wide range of housekeeping and environmental support duties within the hospital setting. These duties include cleaning patient rooms and common areas, stocking linens and supplies, handling hazardous and infectious waste according to established protocols, and assisting with the transportation of trash and linens. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, sanitized, and pleasant environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Beyond the physical tasks, the role requires a compassionate and professional attitude, as the Environmental Service Associate often interacts directly with patients and must uphold their dignity, safety, and satisfaction at all times. The incumbent is expected to follow strict sanitation protocols and departmental guidelines to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and infection control.

Additionally, the Environmental Service Associate participates in patient safety rounds, monitors patients for any signs of distress, and communicates effectively with nursing personnel when intervention is necessary. The position also involves operating, maintaining, and ensuring the cleanliness of department equipment and supplies.

This role is suited for individuals who have a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team. Experience in environmental services or housekeeping within a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory. The employer values strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive approach to ensuring patient-centered care.

Shift hours are clearly defined as evening hours, which include weekends, catering to those who prefer or require this schedule. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals looking to make a meaningful contribution within a respected healthcare organization known for its supportive workplace culture and dedication to community health.
