The houseperson will also assist with important support tasks like delivering items to guest rooms such as luggage, irons, and coffee, contributing to a seamless stay for hotel guests. The role demands physical endurance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact courteously with guests, managers, and other employees. It involves a high level of attentiveness and a service-oriented mindset.

Candidates for this role should be capable of standing for the entire shift, handling physically demanding tasks which include lifting and moving objects weighing up to 100 pounds occasionally, and regularly up to 50 pounds. Additionally, a valid driver’s license relevant to the state is necessary for this position. Mental acuity is important as the houseperson needs to convey information clearly, make quick decisions when necessary, and maintain composure in stressful or high-pressure situations. The hotel places strong emphasis on professionalism, requiring employees to maintain personal grooming and wear the designated uniform and nametag during work hours.
