This location is currently seeking to expand its team by hiring Housekeepers to maintain its high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
The role of the Housekeeping Houseperson at Day's Inn is essential to the overall guest experience and the smooth operation of the hotel. This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of all assigned public areas within the hotel including guest corridors, elevators, and service landings. The houseperson will also assist with important support tasks like delivering items to guest rooms such as luggage, irons, and coffee, contributing to a seamless stay for hotel guests. The role demands physical endurance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact courteously with guests, managers, and other employees. It involves a high level of attentiveness and a service-oriented mindset.
Candidates for this role should be capable of standing for the entire shift, handling physically demanding tasks which include lifting and moving objects weighing up to 100 pounds occasionally, and regularly up to 50 pounds. Additionally, a valid driver’s license relevant to the state is necessary for this position. Mental acuity is important as the houseperson needs to convey information clearly, make quick decisions when necessary, and maintain composure in stressful or high-pressure situations. The hotel places strong emphasis on professionalism, requiring employees to maintain personal grooming and wear the designated uniform and nametag during work hours.
The Housekeeping Houseperson will perform various key responsibilities such as conducting rounds at the start and end of shifts to maintain public area cleanliness, using checklists to systematically complete maintenance and cleaning projects, and practicing safety in all work habits to protect themselves, guests, and fellow employees. They will also be involved in handling lost and found items, reporting maintenance issues, and assisting Housekeeping staff with room cleaning support when needed. A collaborative attitude and willingness to support the housekeeping team in various capacities are essential.

- Experience in hotel or related field preferred
- Valid driver’s license for the applicable state
- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally

Job Duties
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, service-oriented manner
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with hotel scheduling needs
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Comply with hotel standards and regulations to ensure safe operations
- Walk assigned floors at beginning and end of shift to clean and note areas needing immediate attention
- Use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with employees
- Complete projects such as cleaning elevator lobbies, ash urns, glass tables, furniture, ice machines, elevator doors, service landings, stairwells, and polishing floors
- Practice safe work habits to ensure safety of guests, employees, and self
- Handle lost and found items according to hotel standards
- Report maintenance issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor
- Assist with guest room cleaning support when needed
- Vacuum guest corridors and pick up room attendants' trash or linen as required
- Deliver clean linen to assigned sections if applicable
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping areas
- Attend meetings and training as required by management
- Perform other duties as requested by management
