Oasis Ascent is a specialized short-term residential treatment program located in Provo, Utah, dedicated to providing intensive support and secure care for teenage girls facing emotional and behavioral challenges. The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the facility remains clean, safe, and welcoming, directly contributing to the overall well-being and comfort of the students. By effectively managing the cleanliness and organization of resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and dining spaces, the Housekeeper plays a vital role in the success of the therapeutic program. This position requires a strong attention to detail, an understanding of trauma-informed care approaches, and a commitment to supporting a calm and secure atmosphere.

In this role, the Housekeeper works closely with clinical staff and the larger care team to ensure that physical environments meet both emotional and safety needs of residents. Beyond routine cleaning, there is an emphasis on infection control, health and safety compliance, and maintaining equipment and supplies to support hygiene. The housekeeper must be mindful of emotional triggers and behaviors, applying trauma-informed principles to avoid causing distress to residents. Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential to report safety concerns, adapt schedules around therapy sessions, and contribute positively to the healing mission at Oasis Ascent.

  • able to pass motor vehicle record check if applicable
  • current Utah driver's license within 30 days of employment
  • first aid and CPR certified we may provide
  • working knowledge of computers

Job Duties

  • Maintain clean organized and calming environments to support youth well-being
  • perform daily cleaning of common areas including living rooms hallways and therapy rooms
  • vacuum sweep and mop floors to prevent dust buildup and maintain hygiene
  • disinfect high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs handrails light switches and furniture to prevent the spread of germs
  • respect resident privacy while ensuring rooms remain tidy safe and sanitary
  • change bed linens and clean mattresses as needed
  • empty trash and remove any clutter that could pose a safety risk
  • ensure rooms are free of hazardous materials e g sharp objects unsecured cords
  • disinfect toilets sinks showers and floors at least once daily
  • refill soap toilet paper and paper towels to encourage personal hygiene
  • monitor for mold or mildew and address any plumbing issues promptly
  • clean and sanitize dining tables chairs and countertops after each meal
  • keep trash bins emptied and sanitized to prevent odors and pests
  • follow all infection control protocols including proper use of cleaning agents
  • ensure cleaning supplies are secured and out of resident reach to prevent misuse
  • remove any potential hazards such as spills loose objects or unsecured furniture
  • report any facility maintenance issues e g broken fixtures leaks electrical concerns
  • be mindful of trauma-informed care principles when interacting with residents
  • avoid sudden or loud cleaning activities that could trigger anxiety or distress
  • maintain a calm and non-disruptive presence while working in therapeutic spaces
  • ensure spatial awareness and keep cleaning carts away from high risk teens locked out of sight when unattended
  • work closely with clinical staff and supervisors to ensure the environment meets residents emotional and physical needs
  • report any concerning behaviors safety risks or unusual messes that could indicate distress in a resident
  • adapt cleaning schedules to minimize disruptions during therapy sessions and activities
