Job Description

Deaconess Health System is a well-established and respected healthcare provider known for its commitment to delivering high-quality medical services and patient care. As a leading hospital and healthcare organization, Deaconess offers comprehensive medical treatments, innovative health programs, and compassionate care to communities it serves. The system prides itself on fostering a collaborative environment, promoting continuous education, and maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for both patients and staff. With a strong focus on long-term growth and employee development, Deaconess is committed to building a team that values stability, dedication, and professionalism.

The Environmental Services (Housekeeping) Technician position at Deaconess is a vital role responsible for ensuring a safe and sanitary environment within the hospital setting. This role focuses on cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms and various areas throughout the facility in accordance with strict infection prevention standards. The technician will follow personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines and healthcare safety protocols to maintain high cleanliness and safety standards. This position requires working safely in patient care areas with different isolation precautions, including contact, droplet, and airborne precautions, as well as handling exposure to bodily fluids and healthcare-related materials with proper safety procedures.

In addition to routine cleaning duties, Environmental Services Technicians perform floor care, window and wall cleaning, waste removal, linen transport, and other housekeeping tasks to support the daily operations of the healthcare facility. Maintaining organized supply areas is essential as it ensures efficient and smooth department functioning. Teamwork, training participation, and commitment to continuous improvement initiatives are encouraged to uphold the quality of care and service delivered. Providing excellent customer service with compassion and respect for patients, their families, and coworkers is a core aspect of this role.

Deaconess values candidates who demonstrate stability and longevity in their previous roles, highlighting the importance of building a long-term career within the organization. While previous housekeeping experience is a plus, it is not a strict requirement, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to start or grow their careers in healthcare environmental services. This role is perfect for dependable, detail-oriented, and service-minded individuals who are eager to contribute to a healthier, safer, and more pleasant environment for all those served by the Deaconess Health System.
