The role of Custodian/Janitor is critical in upholding the cleanliness and functionality of the venue. This position requires an individual who is diligent, dependable, and able to work efficiently under varied conditions and a sometimes stringent schedule. The Custodian/Janitor is responsible for general cleaning duties throughout the venue including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal. Beyond general cleaning, this role also assists in event set-ups by arranging tables, chairs, and other necessary equipment, ensuring that spaces are prepared to specifications and ready for event activities. The successful candidate will have an understanding of custodial procedures including the correct use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment, while strictly adhering to safety guidelines. This position requires physical stamina to handle the lifting and moving of furniture and equipment, as well as the ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced, multifaceted work environment. Strong interpersonal skills are essential as the custodian will interact courteously with guests, patrons, and other employees. This position does not include supervisory responsibilities but offers the opportunity to be part of a dedicated team that takes pride in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming venue environment for all visitors and staff.
