The Room Attendant role at Hyatt House San Jose/Silicon Valley is an hourly position with a starting pay of $19 per hour. This role plays a critical part in delivering Hyatt's renowned hospitality by ensuring guest rooms and public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and presentation. The Room Attendant will work efficiently and safely in a dynamic environment, demonstrating exceptional attention to detail. Responsibilities include daily cleaning and servicing of guest rooms, handling linens and amenities, inspecting rooms for maintenance needs, and maintaining housekeeping equipment and storage areas. The position also requires excellent guest interaction skills to enhance overall guest satisfaction by providing courteous and professional service.
This role demands a flexible schedule, including availability to work weekends and holidays, and a physical commitment to tasks that involve standing, walking, bending, and lifting. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- physical capability to perform duties including standing walking bending kneeling and lifting
- strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness
- reliable and punctual work ethic
- ability to follow safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment properly
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

- strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
- reliable punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team
- prior hotel housekeeping or cleaning experience is preferred
- familiarity with cleaning tools chemicals and safe handling procedures
Job Duties
- Clean and service guest rooms daily including making beds dusting vacuuming and sanitizing high-touch surfaces
- clean bathrooms thoroughly including toilets showers tubs sinks mirrors and replenish towels toiletries and amenities
- replace linens and terry according to standards and turn rooms promptly
- inspect rooms for cleanliness maintenance concerns or missing damaged items and report issues promptly
- stock housekeeping carts with linens amenities and supplies and maintain par levels
- handle and store cleaning chemicals and supplies safely and according to guidelines
- maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping closets and storage areas
- provide courteous professional interactions with guests and respond to requests when appropriate
- follow do not disturb procedures and respect guest privacy at all times
- communicate room status updates accurately and in a timely manner
- follow proper lifting techniques and safety procedures including use of PPE as required
- adhere to all hotel policies sanitation standards and brand expectations
- support deep cleaning projects and help with other housekeeping tasks as needed
