Job Description

The Housekeeper role within Oak View Group’s Convention Center is critical in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction that OVG is known for. This position is responsible for executing daily cleaning and custodial activities to ensure that all areas of the Convention Center—ranging from lobbies, event spaces, restrooms, offices to external areas like terraces and sidewalks—are spotless, sanitary, and welcoming. As a Housekeeper, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to the guest experience by creating an inviting and safe environment for all visitors, staff, and event participants.
The role offers an hourly wage of $12.00-$13.00 and is designated as part-time, with benefits including a 401(k) savings plan and matching for part-time employees. The position is open until August 21, 2026, providing a stable and long-term employment opportunity. Housekeepers at OVG must follow established cleaning protocols, safety guidelines, and schedules to ensure the facility meets health and sanitation standards at all times. You will operate commercial cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor machines, and carpet cleaners, and will be required to assist with event space setup and teardown by maintaining orderly, clean, and guest-ready rooms. Monitoring safety hazards, reporting needed repairs or supply shortages, and exercising reliability and punctuality are key components of this role.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial roles
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to follow safety protocols and cleaning procedures
- Reliable transportation to and from work location
- Strong communication skills
- Must be able to operate housekeeping equipment safely
Job Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience in a commercial facility preferred
- Experience with floor care and use of commercial cleaning equipment is a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and responsive to direction
- Capable of lifting heavy objects as needed
- Comfortable working around electrical equipment and in varied indoor and outdoor environments
Job Duties
- Perform daily cleaning and custodial tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, sanitizing, and trash removal
- Clean and restock restrooms to maintain health and safety standards
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of event spaces by ensuring rooms are clean, orderly, and guest-ready
- Maintain cleanliness of lobbies, hallways, offices, dressing rooms, and other public or staff areas
- Perform exterior cleaning as assigned including sidewalks, entrances, terraces
- Safely operate housekeeping equipment such as vacuums, floor machines, carpet cleaners
- Monitor and report any safety hazards, needed repairs, or supply shortages to the supervisor
- Follow established cleaning schedules, safety guidelines, and procedures at all times
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
