Job Description
Bend Transitional Care is a well-established 60-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located in Bend, Oregon. This facility is dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care specifically designed to support individuals during transitional post-hospital stays, offering them the medical assistance they need before returning home or moving to longer-term care environments. Their approach focuses on personalized care plans aimed at helping residents live their best lives with dignity, comfort, and optimal health outcomes. The facility not only prioritizes clinical excellence but also fosters an environment of respect and professional growth among its staff members.
The role of Full Time Laundry Aide and Housekeeper at Bend Transitional Care is pivotal to maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall comfort of the facility. This hybrid position involves essential functions in laundry operations as well as housekeeping duties, designed to ensure the environment remains safe, sanitary, and welcoming for residents, visitors, and staff. The schedule runs from Wednesday to Friday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm for laundry aide responsibilities, and Saturdays from 9:00 am to 6:30 pm dedicated to housekeeping duties.
This position offers the benefit of working within a supportive, mission-driven team that values respect, teamwork, and clinical excellence. Being a member of the SEIU 503 Union, employees enjoy retention bonuses, extra shift bonuses, and other perks as per the union contract. Bend Transitional Care offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid vacation and sick time, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), continuing education, and professional development support. The culture emphasizes collaboration and positive leadership, fostering an atmosphere where team members feel valued and supported.
In the laundry aide role, you will be responsible for sorting, washing, drying, and folding resident clothing, stocking linen closets and carts for nursing units, and delivering clean linens and clothing to residents' rooms. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the laundry region, performing routine equipment cleaning such as removing detergent build-up and cleaning lint traps, as well as purging stained or damaged linens, are integral parts of the job. Promptness and regular attendance remain essential for this role.
As a housekeeper, you will take pride in maintaining the overall cleanliness of the facility, including resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, and bathrooms, ensuring all areas meet high standards of sanitation and safety. Responsibilities include safely mixing and using cleaning solutions, labeling and handling infectious waste properly, and maintaining an environment that is welcoming and positive for residents and visitors alike. Physical stamina to stand, bend, and twist for the majority of the shift is required.
Overall, this combined role is crucial to the smooth operation of Bend Transitional Care, directly impacting the quality of life and satisfaction of the residents. The position is a great opportunity for individuals who are dependable, detail-oriented, patient, polite, and willing to contribute to a caring team dedicated to health and well-being.
