The role of Housekeeper/Laundry Aide at Englewood Health and Rehabilitation is vital to the overall operation and cleanliness of the facility. Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
ability to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of 50 lbs
ability to do constant walking, bending, lifting and standing for long periods during a scheduled shift
thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective housekeeping practices within the State of employment
ability to be a team player to partner with other departments
ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language

Job Duties

Maintain cleaning schedules for assigned area
coordinate routine and terminal isolation procedures with Nursing Services
maintain knowledge of safety regulations, policies and procedures and follow established safety procedures and precautions
report all unsafe or hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to supervisor immediately
honor the residents’ personal and property rights
file complaints or grievances with supervisor in a timely fashion
follow established policies and procedures of laundry tasks
use proper protocols for picking up soiled linens, including isolation linens, and transporting them to the laundry department
use proper protective clothing and equipment while performing laundry duties
maintain all cleaning schedules for each assigned area and follow laundry department schedules
maintain confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights, privacy and property are protected at all times
report and document resident and/or visitor incidents, accidents, complaints or allegations according to the facility's policy and procedure using the designated occurrence reporting systems
