The role of Housekeeper/Laundry Aide at Englewood Health and Rehabilitation is vital to the overall operation and cleanliness of the facility. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
  • ability to lift, push, pull and move equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of 50 lbs
  • ability to do constant walking, bending, lifting and standing for long periods during a scheduled shift
  • thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective housekeeping practices within the State of employment
  • ability to be a team player to partner with other departments
  • ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language

Job Duties

  • Maintain cleaning schedules for assigned area
  • coordinate routine and terminal isolation procedures with Nursing Services
  • maintain knowledge of safety regulations, policies and procedures and follow established safety procedures and precautions
  • report all unsafe or hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to supervisor immediately
  • honor the residents’ personal and property rights
  • file complaints or grievances with supervisor in a timely fashion
  • follow established policies and procedures of laundry tasks
  • use proper protocols for picking up soiled linens, including isolation linens, and transporting them to the laundry department
  • use proper protective clothing and equipment while performing laundry duties
  • maintain all cleaning schedules for each assigned area and follow laundry department schedules
  • maintain confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure residents rights, privacy and property are protected at all times
  • report and document resident and/or visitor incidents, accidents, complaints or allegations according to the facility's policy and procedure using the designated occurrence reporting systems
