Job Description
Presbyterian Healthcare Services is a renowned, locally owned, not-for-profit healthcare system that has been serving New Mexico since 1908. With a vast network comprising nine hospitals, a statewide health plan, and a growing multi-specialty medical group, Presbyterian has established itself as the state's largest private employer. Employing nearly 14,000 individuals including over 1,600 providers and almost 4,700 nurses, the organization is deeply committed to enhancing the health and well-being of patients, members, and communities throughout New Mexico. Their health plan notably supports more than 580,000 members across the state, offering a variety of plans including Medicare Advantage, Medicaid (Centennial Care), and Commercial health plans.
Presbyterian Healthcare Services is currently seeking a Housekeeper/Environmental Services Technician to join their team at the Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center. This PRN (pro re nata or as-needed) position involves working night shifts and is focused on maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within the hospital setting. The role is vital to the overall health and morale of patients, visitors, and staff by ensuring that all hospital areas are hygienic, attractive, and safe, thereby facilitating patient recovery and comfort.
As a Housekeeper/Environmental Services Technician, you will be responsible for upholding established departmental policies and procedures, including quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Duties encompass a variety of cleaning tasks such as dusting furniture and equipment, mopping and polishing floors, and operating housekeeping mechanical equipment. Ensuring that patient rooms are properly cleaned and prepared for the next occupant, including adherence to isolation procedures when applicable, is a key part of this job. Additionally, you will remove waste and soiled linens in compliance with hospital protocols, contribute to maintaining hallways, stairways, and public areas in pristine condition, and participate actively in educational programs and in-service meetings to stay informed about best practices and standards.
This position offers a competitive pay range from a minimum of $16.33 to a maximum of $21.45 per hour. Presbyterian Healthcare Services provides a comprehensive benefits package for all benefits-eligible employees, including medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, and group term life insurance, alongside other voluntary benefits. The organization also promotes employee wellness through programs offering incentives for participation in health activities, challenges, preventive screenings, and webinars.
By joining Presbyterian Healthcare Services, you become part of an organization dedicated not only to clinical excellence but also to community engagement and health promotion across New Mexico. The organization’s commitments include hosting farmers' markets and forming partnerships with local communities to actively improve the health of its residents. Presbyterian is an equal opportunity employer, dedicated to diversity, the hiring of veterans, people with disabilities, and maintaining a drug-free and tobacco-free workplace, including smoke-free campuses. This role is perfect for someone who values the importance of a clean and safe healthcare environment and who is motivated to support the well-being of New Mexico’s population through excellent environmental services.
