Job Description

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is a leading not-for-profit healthcare system based in New Mexico, dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of the patients, members, and communities it serves. Established in 1908, Presbyterian has grown to include nine hospitals, a statewide health plan, and a comprehensive multi-specialty medical group. With nearly 14,000 employees, including over 1,600 providers and approximately 4,700 nurses, it stands as the state’s largest private employer. Their health plan caters to more than 580,000 members across New Mexico, offering a variety of coverage options such as Medicare Advantage, Medicaid (Centennial Care), and Commercial health plans. The organization is deeply committed to community health through initiatives like local growers' markets and collaborative partnerships aimed at improving the quality of life for all New Mexicans.

Positioned within this well-respected healthcare system, the Housekeeper/Environmental Services Tech role at Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center plays a pivotal part in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. This PRN (as-needed) position is specifically situated at the 4801 Beckner Road location in Santa Fe, NM and involves working night shifts. The role is crucial for supporting patient recovery by ensuring hospital areas meet strict safety, health, and morale standards for patients, visitors, and staff.

The Housekeeper/Environmental Services Tech is tasked with upholding rigorous departmental policies and procedures, including quality assurance, safety, environmental controls, and infection prevention standards. Responsibilities encompass routine dusting, mopping, polishing floors, cleaning fixtures, and operating housekeeping machinery. The role requires moving furniture as needed to facilitate thorough cleaning and managing waste and soiled linens per hospital protocols. Ensuring patient rooms are promptly cleaned and prepared for new occupants, including adhering to isolation procedures when necessary, is a fundamental part of the job. Participation in ongoing educational programs and in-service meetings underscores the position’s commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.

Compensation for this role ranges between $16.33 and $21.45 per hour, reflecting the skilled nature of the work and the importance of maintaining high standards within a healthcare environment. As an employee eligible for benefits, the housekeeper will gain access to a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability coverage, group term life insurance, and various optional voluntary benefits. Beyond physical health insurance, Presbyterian encourages staff well-being through its Employee Wellness rewards program, offering engaging activities such as wellness challenges, webinars, and preventive screenings designed to promote overall health and vitality.

Working at Presbyterian Healthcare Services means joining an organization that prioritizes the health of communities through inclusive and forward-thinking practices. Their dedication to maintaining a drug-free and tobacco-free workplace reflects their broader commitment to fostering a healthy work environment.
