The role we are offering is a vital position within the Environmental Services Department primarily responsible for performing cleaning and sanitation duties across the healthcare facility. This position is available in full-time, part-time, or per diem formats with shifts that may include every other weekend and holidays, thereby requiring a flexible and dependable professional. The core objective for this role is to maintain a thoroughly clean and hygienic environment that aligns with prescribed safety and operational standards. The selected candidate will be entrusted with handling various cleaning functions utilizing proper cleaning supplies and maintaining equipment in optimal condition. Responsibilities include the cleaning of patient rooms, public areas, and various surfaces such as beds, blinds, ceilings, sinks, toilets, showers, walls, windows, and other pertinent fixtures.

This position demands a detail-oriented individual who can perform routine floor care by sweeping, mopping, stripping, scrubbing, vacuuming, and buffing floors to the required standards. The incumbent will also manage the distribution and collection of linens, as well as the safe disposal of waste, including both regular and infectious materials. Duties extend to setting up and breaking down furniture and equipment for functions, ensuring functional and aesthetic readiness. Candidates will need to demonstrate physical stamina, including the ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds, ambulate stairs, and bend as required during shift duties. Experience in industrial or hospital cleaning environments is preferred, as well as familiarity with cleaning machinery such as buffing and scrubbing machines and vacuum cleaners. This role plays an indispensable part in safeguarding the facility's operations and patient environment, making it critical to our ongoing success and service excellence.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Performs all cleaning functions following established procedures in a timely fashion
  • uses properly labeled cleaning supplies for each job as instructed
  • maintains tools and equipment in good condition, uses supplies economically
  • cleans beds, blinds, ceilings, light fixtures, sinks, toilets, bathtubs, showers, walls, windows, wall tiles, ceiling and wall vents, televisions, etc. following established procedures
  • washes and hangs draperies and cubicle curtains
  • washes and polishes furniture and metal
  • sweeps walkways and outside perimeter of facility where applicable
  • sweeps, mops, strips, scrubs, vacuums, and buffs floors
  • replenishes liquid soap, paper towels and toilet tissue
  • moves furniture from one area in facility to another where applicable, may move furniture to outside storage facility
  • distributes clean linen carts
  • picks up soiled linen and delivers to linen department
  • collects garbage, cleans and re-lines trash receptacles with plastic liners
  • transports garbage to designated area and disposes non-infectious waste appropriately
  • deposits Red Bags-Infectious Waste in holding cart cautiously
  • transports Red-Bag garbage to Sani-Pak area and inserts into Sani-Pak, operates Sani-Pak receptacle
  • moves and replaces furniture as necessary after carpet installations or department relocations where applicable
  • sets up and breaks down tables, chairs, lecture podiums according to specifications
  • removes trash before setting up next function or meeting
  • performs related duties as required
