The Housekeeper position at Gaylord Hotels plays a critical role in maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction the brand is known for. As a full-time, non-management role within the Housekeeping - Rooms department, this position reports directly to the Assistant Executive Housekeeper. The role involves performing a combination of cleaning duties to ensure guest rooms are maintained consistently according to established procedures. From making beds and replenishing linens to cleaning bathrooms and vacuuming, the Housekeeper supports the overall guest experience by creating a pristine and welcoming environment. The position is physically demanding, requiring frequent standing, walking, lifting heavy loads up to and over 50 pounds, and working in varying conditions including exposure to chemicals and humid environments.
Compensation for the Housekeeper starts at $21.41 per hour with scheduled pay increases to $24.26 per hour after six months and $28.55 per hour after one year, reflecting the value placed on experience and dedication. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- No initial experience required
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment methods and chemicals preferred
- Good communication skills required for interaction with hotel guests and staff
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to walk extended distances
- Ability to lift and carry 6-25 lbs
- Ability to lift and carry 26-50 lbs
- Ability to lift and carry over 50 lbs
- Ability to reach hands and arms in any direction
- Ability to kneel or stoop repeatedly
- Willingness to work a varying schedule including evenings holidays and overtime

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Clean assigned guest rooms according to preset standards and procedures
- Empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal areas according to standards
- Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses and bathroom items
- Input accurate room status into the phone system
- Enter respond to and close maintenance system work orders
- Keep cart linen room and equipment neat and orderly
- Turn in all articles found in vacated rooms according to lost and found procedures
- Report maintenance problems immediately
- Follow established chemical and key control procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
