The Housekeeper role at PebbleBeach Company is pivotal to maintaining the exceptional standards that define this luxury resort and golf destination. This position is focused on delivering the highest quality cleaning services, ensuring all guest rooms and resort areas meet the rigorous standards expected of a five-star, five-diamond operation. Housekeepers are responsible for efficiently and thoroughly performing physical cleaning tasks throughout their shifts, which require stamina, attention to detail, and strong lifting capabilities. This role demands self-motivation, precision, and an unwavering commitment to cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Key responsibilities include transferring linens and amenities to guest rooms, performing deep cleaning of bathrooms and bedroom areas, vacuuming rooms, reporting any deficiencies, and maintaining organized storage areas. Communication skills are essential, as housekeepers must effectively report room statuses, challenges, and safety concerns to management. Beyond cleaning, housekeepers contribute to the overall guest experience by upholding the pristine environment guests expect when visiting PebbleBeach Company properties. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly throughout entire shift
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods
- Familiarity with sanitation and cleaning standards
- Ability to communicate clearly to staff, managers and guests
- Must be self-motivated and detail oriented
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines
- Compliance with Pebble Beach Company policies and procedures
- Must be able to maintain a minimum inspection score of 95% in assigned areas
- Willingness to attend meetings and training sessions
- Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively
Job Qualifications
- Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly to staff, managers and guests
- Familiarity with sanitation and cleaning standards
- Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly, performing physical tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift and carry up to 15 lbs
- Basic reading, writing and speaking skills in English
Job Duties
- Transfer linens, towels and other room amenity items from storage area to guest room and replenish as necessary
- Fold and hang towels in restroom, re-assemble bedding, hang robes and pick up guest items off of floor
- Mop and wipe down all mirrors and windows in guest rooms and clean restrooms including bathtubs, sinks, countertops, showers and floors
- Vacuum assigned sleeping rooms daily and report any stains, rips or areas which may require deep cleaning to supervisor/manager
- Report all room deficiencies requiring engineering assistance including broken lamps/lightbulbs, faulty sinks, broken furniture, etc.
- Remove Room Service trays/dishes and empty liquids
- Organize and maintain closets with linen and amenities
- Follow instructions of management for room cleaning sequence
- Notify Housekeeping office and turn in all lost and found items immediately
- Maintain accurate record of tasks performed via daily log and properly communicate any challenges to manager immediately
- Promptly report each room status after completion, to assist and maintain a constant and thorough flow of rooms
- Report all suspicious activities and emergencies immediately to Housekeeping office
- Attend all departmental meetings as scheduled
- Perform all duties according to the quality standards and procedures outlined in the Housekeeping manual for each task
- Maintain all guest rooms in assigned section with a minimum inspection score of 95%, to ensure the highest degree of cleanliness and appearance
- Expediently follow through on priority room statuses and other tasks that may need immediate attention
- Comply with all Pebble Beach Company and departmental policies regarding safety guidelines, procedures for performing tasks, using chemicals and operating equipment
- Know, model and integrate Pebble Beach Company culture (mission, values and standards).
