Job Description

Delaware North Parks and Resorts is a renowned hospitality company operating in various sectors including sports, gaming, and hospitality. One of their premier locations is the Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite, situated in Fish Camp, California, just outside the south entrance to Yosemite National Park. This 4-diamond resort is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty including granite peaks and forests, offering guests a wide range of outdoor experiences. The resort also features Waybound, a collection of modern cabins and cottages that give guests a more private and retreat-style stay while still providing access to the resort's amenities. Delaware North prides itself on creating a hospitality experience deeply influenced by its proximity to nature and the great outdoors. The company fosters a culture centered on people, emphasizing teamwork, career growth, and a global legacy of over 100 years as a family-owned business with international operations.

The Housekeeper role at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite is essential to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and overall guest satisfaction that the resort is known for. This position is seasonal and full-time with compensation ranging from $18.74 to $19.00 per hour. Employees may be eligible for a season completion bonus of $500 and a commuter bonus for traveling distances greater than 35 miles. The housekeeping team plays a critical role in ensuring that public areas, guest rooms, and meeting spaces are hygienic, welcoming, and well-maintained. This includes sanitation, restocking supplies, reporting maintenance issues, and managing lost and found items.

Beyond cleaning duties, housekeepers have the opportunity to interact occasionally with guests, enhancing the overall experience by providing friendly and helpful assistance. The role demands physical stamina as it involves frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, lifting up to 50 pounds, and the use of various cleaning tools and equipment.

Delaware North offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time, year-round employees. This includes health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) plan with company match; paid vacation and holidays; paid parental bonding leave; tuition reimbursement or professional certification reimbursement; weekly pay; a free shift meal in the employee dining room; commuter bonuses; employee discounts; access to guest recreation equipment and activities; and training with opportunities for career growth and mobility within the company. These benefits underline the company’s commitment to employee well-being and professional development.

Working at Tenaya Lodge also provides unparalleled access to world-class outdoor attractions such as Yosemite National Park, Bass Lake, and Sierra National Forest. Employees can enjoy hobbies like hiking, fishing, biking, rock climbing, camping, and horseback riding, making this an ideal workplace for outdoor enthusiasts looking to blend their career with their passion for nature. Shift schedules include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, offering a variety of flexible work options.

Overall, this Housekeeper position is a great opportunity for individuals seeking an entry-level role that requires minimal experience but offers plenty of support and the chance to be part of a prestigious resort in one of the most iconic natural settings in the United States. Delaware North is committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring an equal opportunity workplace without discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender identity, or other protected statuses. Joining this team means becoming part of a global hospitality legacy dedicated to shaping the future of great guest experiences.
