The housekeeping supervisor role at PruittHealth is a vital position responsible for ensuring that the nursing center is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner. This role involves supervising, organizing, and directing the daily duties of the housekeeping department, ensuring that all tasks meet the facility's standards. The supervisor will coordinate housekeeping activities, oversee staff performance, and make daily inspections to guarantee adherence to housekeeping procedures and safety protocols. An emphasis on maintaining cleanliness, safety, and a welcoming environment in the facility is central to this role.

In addition to direct supervision, the housekeeping supervisor evaluates the productivity and quality of work performed by housekeeping staff, identifying training needs and providing support to enhance staff performance. The position requires reporting any occupational exposure to bodily fluids, hazardous chemicals, or infectious materials in line with the facility’s policies. The supervisor plays a key role in maintaining housekeeping supply inventory and participates actively in departmental budget planning to ensure resources are adequately allocated.

This leadership position requires a hands-on approach where the supervisor must be able to perform all housekeeping duties alongside the team when necessary. Preferred qualifications include experience in a supervisory capacity within a healthcare setting such as a hospital or long-term care facility, alongside training in environmental control practices. Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent, preferred
  • Minimum two years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, long-term care center, or related healthcare facility, preferred
  • Training in environmental control practices, preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Coordinates and oversees the activities and actions assigned to housekeeping partners
  • Inspects and makes daily rounds to ensure housekeeping duties are being performed and procedures are being followed
  • Evaluates productivity and quality of work of each employee and determines additional training needs
  • Reports occupational exposure to bodily fluids, infectious materials, and hazardous chemicals according to facility policies
  • Ensures housekeeping partners are wearing personal protective equipment and using safety equipment and supplies
  • Reviews and assists in corrective action plans for housekeeping deficiencies noted during surveys
  • Maintains stock levels of housekeeping supplies
