Job Requirements

  • High school education is required
  • Prior housekeeping supervisory experience in a retirement community, hotel, or healthcare setting is required
  • Knowledge of housekeeping and infection control procedures required
  • Ability to demonstrate computer and word processing skills
  • Ability to pass a preemployment screening process including fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references
  • Willingness to work Monday through Friday with weekend availability
  • Compliance with vaccination status inquiries as required for licensed residential care facilities

Job Qualifications

  • High school education is required
  • Good oral and written communication skills are essential
  • Prior housekeeping supervisory experience in a retirement community, hotel, or healthcare setting is required
  • Knowledge of housekeeping and infection control procedures required
  • Special courses in housekeeping or institutional management are desirable
  • Must be able to competently demonstrate computer and word processing skills

Job Duties

  • Supervises the performance of all housekeepers through personal inspections of apartments and Health Center rooms as assigned
  • Assists in the recruitment of staff, training, evaluating and disciplining all housekeepers
  • Keeps required records, reports and studies
  • Coordinates annual apartment cleanings with the Environmental Services Director
  • Coordinates department functions with those of other departments
  • Conducts inventories of all housekeeping supplies and places monthly orders for all housekeeping supplies
  • Coordinates the scheduling of all apartment cleaning and special cleaning projects
  • Performs the duties of a housekeeper as necessary
