This role is a full-time Housekeeping Supervisor position at Hotel Indigo Cleveland Gateway in Cleveland, Ohio, with a competitive salary range of $17.50 to $18.50 per hour. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, the successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of the hotel. The cleanliness of a guest's environment is one of the most important factors influencing guest satisfaction, repeat visits and recommendations. The Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for inspecting guest rooms and public areas regularly to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are met and maintained. In addition to supervisory responsibilities, this role involves training and onboarding new housekeeping staff, motivating the team to deliver exceptional results, and managing daily workflow distribution to achieve operational efficiency. The Housekeeping Supervisor acts as an essential link between the housekeeping team and management, ensuring that supplies are well inventoried and maintenance issues promptly addressed. Effective coordination with the front desk and other departments is also a key aspect of this role to ensure seamless guest service and operational success. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum six months of housekeeping experience preferred
  • strong attention to detail
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Six months experience in a similar housekeeping position desirable

  • ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions
  • ability to move, traverse, position self to reach corners on floors and high places
  • observe conditions, detect odors, position and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces
  • operate equipment including spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads and dusters
  • lift, carry and position loads of at least 25lbs

Job Duties

  • Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well
  • work as a team to accomplish the goal of hotel cleanliness
  • coordinate the day’s work flow and distribution of duties
  • inspect guest rooms following highest quality standards
  • hold department employees accountable for the highest quality standards
  • supervise and train staff to ensure that standards of cleanliness are maintained
  • assist with performing inventory of linen and supplies
  • assist in completion of performance evaluations
  • use judgment and experience to distribute work, assign rooms and duties to staff
  • coordinate activities with Front Desk Supervisor and staff
  • report maintenance needs accordingly
  • ensure employees are using and handling cleaning chemicals safely
  • find coverage for callouts or when house counts increase
  • perform other related duties as requested by management
