Job Requirements
- High school diploma or secondary qualification or equivalent
- experience with cleaning standards of major hotel brands
- basic knowledge of general cleaning principles
- ability to use cleaning products and operate standard cleaning equipment
- vision to see minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas
- upper body strength to lift up to 50lbs continually throughout an 8 hour shift
- finger, hand and upper body dexterity to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture throughout 8 hour shift
- ability to work with arms raised above head throughout an 8 hour shift
- ability to maneuver fully loaded maid cart weighing up to 50lbs through hallways and into/out of closets during entire work day
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or similar cleaning standards
- knowledge of general cleaning principles and use of cleaning products
- ability to operate standard cleaning equipment
- strong communication skills
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- ability to lift and maneuver heavy equipment and furniture
- attention to detail in cleanliness
- ability to read and write for logging issues and requests
Job Duties
- Cleans and prepares guest rooms and public areas
- maintains cleaning carts and storerooms in an orderly fashion
- cleans windows, doors, walls, closets, and fixtures
- washes shower walls, tubs, toilets, mirrors, and sinks
- replaces towels, soaps, and room amenities
- washes hard floor areas by hand
- dusts and polishes furniture and fixtures
- strips and remakes beds with fresh linen
- vacuums rooms and hallways
- inspects door and window locks for safety
- checks room equipment and reports maintenance needs
- secures and maintains custody of equipment, keys, and supplies
- assists laundry department with sorting and processing linens
- cleans patio and balcony areas
- provides assistance to other employees and departments
