Job Description

Bend Transitional Care is a reputable skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility located in Bend, Oregon. With a capacity of 60 beds, this facility specializes in providing transitional and post-hospital care for individuals who require additional medical support before returning to their homes or moving to long-term care environments. Bend Transitional Care is committed to delivering compassionate and high-quality nursing care that promotes the well-being and independence of its residents. The team here is mission-driven, focusing not only on clinical excellence but also fostering respect and professional growth among its staff, which creates a supportive and positive work culture. The facility emphasizes a collaborative approach to care, ensuring that all residents receive personalized attention tailored to their unique needs and recovery goals.

The role in question is for a Full Time Housekeeper who will work Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. This position is integral to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. As a housekeeper, you will take pride and ownership in the upkeep of the entire facility, including resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, and bathrooms. The role demands a detail-oriented individual who understands the importance of proper cleaning and sanitization, especially in a healthcare setting where infection control is critical. You will be responsible for safely mixing and using cleaning solutions, handling infectious waste properly, and adhering to all safety protocols and company policies. Additionally, punctuality and reliability are essential as these contribute to the smooth operation of the facility.

Working at Bend Transitional Care means becoming a valued member of the SEIU 503 Union, which offers retention bonuses and extra shift bonuses according to the union contract. Alongside competitive pay, employees benefit from medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, paid vacation and sick time, life and disability insurance, and access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The facility also provides continuing education and professional development support, encouraging career advancement and skill enhancement. Leadership at Bend Transitional Care promotes a positive team culture that respects each individual’s contributions and prioritizes a collaborative work environment.

This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in healthcare support roles who want to make a meaningful difference in a community-focused setting. The facility supports employees with comprehensive training and adherence to state background check requirements to ensure safety. Other responsibilities may include performing additional tasks as assigned and conducting duties in compliance with company policies, federal and state laws, and professional standards. The ideal candidate will have a good ability to communicate effectively, demonstrate patience and politeness, and have some knowledge of infection control techniques. While a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, it is not mandatory, and experience in long-term care is a plus but not required as training will be provided if selected. This role offers a secure and fulfilling career path for those dedicated to supporting the health and comfort of others.
