The Housekeeper position at MorningStar Senior Living is a full-time role offering a pay rate of $20.70 per hour. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with shifts typically running from 8:00 am to mid-afternoon hours, accommodating slight variations on certain days. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- one year experience in a health care facility preferred
- ability to read, write, and speak English
- follow instructions

Job Duties
- Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments and established housekeeping procedures
- assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, comfortable and attractive manner
- follow established infection control practices when performing housekeeping measures
- follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and using equipment and supplies
- clean and polish furnishing, fixtures, ledges, room heating and cooling units in resident rooms and recreational areas
- clean, wash, sanitize, and or polish bathroom fixtures
- clean windows and mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance and exit ways
- clean floors including sweeping, dusting, damp and wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting
- clean carpets including vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting
- clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing
- remove dirt, dust, grease, film from surfaces using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions
- clean hallways, stairways, and elevators
- discard waste and trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles with plastic liner
- report all hazardous conditions or equipment
- assure that work and assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies are properly stored at all times
- assure that an adequate inventory or housekeeping supplies are maintained
- report burned out light bulbs and other lighting issues to the supervisor
- perform terminal cleaning procedures when a resident is discharged or transferred
- assure that work and cleaning procedure schedules are followed
- follow established fire-safety policies and procedures
- assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies as directed or requested
- report all accidents and incidents to the supervisor
- maintain the confidentiality of resident care information
- honor the resident's personal property
- turn in all found articles to the supervisor
- attend departmental and staff meetings
- keep work and assignment areas free of hazardous objects such as protruding mop and broom handles, unnecessary equipment, extra supplies
