Job Description
Santa Rosa Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (SRBHH), formerly known as Aurora Santa Rosa Hospital, was established in 2016 and has since become an essential cornerstone within the greater Santa Rosa and Northern California mental health system of care. The hospital is conveniently located in the North Bay region and caters to a diverse population of adolescents and adults. With 144 acute psychiatric inpatient beds, SRBHH is equipped to provide comprehensive treatment that covers both mental health disorders and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse conditions. The institution is known for its commitment to offering compassionate, patient-centered care within a secure and supportive environment.\n\nThe role of a Housekeeper at SRBHH is a vital position within the organization, contributing directly to maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the hospital. The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that all patient and non-patient areas are kept orderly and hygienic, which plays a critical role in infection control and the overall well-being of both patients and staff. This position requires knowledge of occupational health hazards, including the proper handling and disposal of potentially infectious materials, and participating in ongoing training to stay updated on safety protocols.\n\nThe Housekeeper will report directly to the Director of Plant Operations and will be expected to carry out daily tasks that include general cleaning with various approved cleaning products, dusting surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpeted areas, and properly handling linens in designated patient areas. Additional responsibilities include replenishing restroom supplies, managing waste removal and recycling duties, and maintaining records related to cleaning supplies and activities. The role also demands adherence to the organization’s safety and security policies, the ability to provide good customer service, and participation in professional development activities.\n\nCompensation for the Housekeeper position ranges from $23.50 to $24.00 per hour, reflecting the essential nature of the work performed as part of the hospital’s operational team. Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a demonstrated willingness to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment that values collaboration and professionalism. Physical requirements include the ability to perform various cleaning tasks that may involve lifting up to 25 pounds, standing or sitting for extended periods, and coordinating multiple tasks efficiently. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a respected healthcare institution that emphasizes quality patient care and a supportive workplace culture.
